CORONA VIRUS: Is Drinking Tea, Coffee, hot water can protect people from Corona Virus?
One cup of hot drinkable water, coffee or tea
can give you comfort and pleasure, particularly in cold and freeze region. Maybe it can calm the
scattered mind a bit. But can it help in difficult times
like coronavirus or covid-19? ? Many
such claims and suggestions are now circulating on social media and personal
communication messages. These types of rumor is one of them. One claims that
drinking hot water can keep you free from coronavirus.
This message had heavily spreaded
to an extent that UNICEF was forced to issue a statement saying it had not made
any such announcement. "There
is no evidence yet that hot drinks can protect against the virus," said
Ron Eccles, a chest specialist at Cardiff University in the UK. Achilles has
studied in the past, what happens when you drink hot water while suffering from
colds and flu. He found that a hot drink might give him some relief. This may
be because hot drinks increase the secretion of saliva and mucus in the mouth
and nose, which can reduce inflammation.
But no
hot drink can cure the virus that causes the infection in the case of
SARS-Cov-2, the coronavirus that caused Covid-19 disease, Many medical
specialist examined it and found that drinking hot water could not provide any
protection against this new type of coronavirus. Drinking hot water or gargling
does not wash away the virus. Corona virus infects people after it enters the
body through the nose or mouth in small amounts through coughing or sneezing of
other people.
First,
it attacks human lung cells. The cells of lung use an enzyme by the help of
that the virus enter to the lungs. As you
breathe in, these tiny droplets reach deep into the lungs - where any fluid from
the mouth can’t reach. Gargles in hot water cannot kill the virus inside the
throat. Once it gets inside the body, the virus quickly enters the cells of the
human body and makes many copies of itself.
As a
result, it can protect itself from any attempt to delete or wash it off. Some
early studies have suggested that it takes about 30 hours for
the virus to spread to other cells after infecting the first cell. Similarly,
the virus can protect itself from any outside temperature once it enters our
body cells. The normal human body temperature is 36 degrees Celsius (96.6
degrees Fahrenheit), which is ideal for replicating and spreading the virus. As
a result, gargle with hot water in the throat to kill the virus inside the cell
can’t work. This requires a temperature of 56 degrees Celsius or higher, which
can kill coronaviruses like SARS. However, some experiments suggest that the
temperature should be above 60-65 degrees Celsius. However, no research has yet
been published on the temperature to which the virus that caused the Covid-19
infection can survive. It is thought to be similar to other coronaviruses.
Many
misconceptions claim that adding certain ingredients to tea can protect against
the Covid-19 virus. But
no
scientific evidence has been found for this. So hot
drinks may have a lot of good aspects. But the best way
way to
protect yourself from Covid-19 is to ensure social security, wash your hands
regularly with soap and
water, and follow the latest health guidelines.
